But Did I Do It: Product Updates And New Merchandise

A lot has changed in the world since Next Mountain launched the But Did I Do It app for Android in the Google Play Store in April 2020! This post includes several major announcements—a recent update to the But Did I Do It app, plans for the next major iteration and overhaul of that particular app, and the launch of a variety of exciting success, optimization, and performance related merchandise available for purchase. And, there's some generally fun merchandise planned to be available for purchase, as well.

But Did I Do It App Updates

While the recent Android app update included improved navigation and a streamlined overall user experience, future releases will be much more transformational. These planned updates include the following:

  1. Overhauling the Android app
  2. Launching an iOS app
  3. Launching a web app
  4. Evolving the app name
  5. Improving documentation and guidance

First and foremost, while the recent updates were geared toward making the app generally easier to use, the Android app needs a complete overhaul. So, the first order of business is to improve the user experience and navigation flow, based on feedback gained over the years.

Equally important, because users requested iOS and web apps even before the Android app was launched, both iOS and web app launches are being prioritized, as promised. Of course, while building an iOS app is an obvious thing to do, you might be asking why we would build a web app in the age of mobile everything. Since the goal of the app is to help users align their life purpose, goals, and habits, some users expressed a preference for thinking deeply about that with a laptop or desktop, which has a full-sized keyboard and a larger screen. Also, since images are important, uploading photos directly from a computer can be convenient for many.

And with the launch of these three new products, it's time to update the app name. The new name will be announced soon!

Finally, as many users have noticed, the documentation and written usage guidance is text heavy, and there's not enough video or visual guidance. While people found that instruction and guidance to be helpful, and this recent update streamlined some of that content, it really isn't yet at the ideal state for a seamless mobile experience.

So, stay tuned for these launches coming soon, over the next few months.

In cool companies across the world, product launches and other milestones are often celebrated with swag, such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, water bottles, and various other items that will support logos, trendy phrases, and fancy graphics. Frequently, those are custom, once-off orders that don't happen again, so these products become hard to obtain later.

In most cases, that's fine. Not every user or customer wants to celebrate a product launch. However, some users and customers also want to obtain these items, or items that express the fundamental ideas and underpinnings of meaningful apps. In the second case, these customers want to keep their minds focused on their outcomes, which are aligned with and supported by these products. So, Next Mountain is making those products available from various outlets. It's exciting to announce that several items are already available!

Some users really like the simplicity and empowerment of Next Mountain's Success Equation, which is a key component of the foundation for the But Did I Do It app:

Purpose + Habits = Success

, which was initially written as Purpose + Habits = Results. Naturally, the point is that having a life purpose that is fully supported by your habits helps to set you up for success. Of course, the right set of habits likely includes goal-setting, which leads toward achieving your life purpose. Further posts and courses will delve into this much more deeply. That equation is now available as a t-shirt and sweatshirt on Amazon, with more products coming soon.
